On race day, The Wall is real. It feels different for everyone (so, not always a “wall”, but it’s an inflection point). Usually around mile 18-22, even if you have training runs that distance already. Walk, intake a little extra fuel, or do whatever to manage it. 👍

I have similar amphipod brand belt. It feels more like a thick waistband than a fanny pack; this helps with the mental stigma. Granola or fruit bars (2 or 3 for a full marathon) plus energy chews work for me.

Very nice. When I bowled regularly (in my teens), I was always fascinated by the +20 scoring of alternating strikes and spares.

While Rush’s “Hold Your Fire” is fine (it’s definitely an 80s album!), their 13th-15th are special to me, as those came out as I was discovering the band. (“Presto”, “Roll the Bones”, “Counterparts”)
