If you're LGBTQ+ and you rely on Medicaid for your health care, I'd like to talk with you! I'm grateful for the conversations I've had so far.

I'm writing about how LGBTQ+ Americans are among those who will be disproportionately impacted by the passage of the "Big Beautiful Bill."

The door to fight gender-affirming care bans isn’t closed, LGBTQ+ rights attorneys say After U.S. v Skrmetti, LGBTQ+ rights attorneys still see openings to fight gender-affirming care bans and other anti-trans laws.

Despite the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold a Tennessee law banning gender-affirming care for transgender youth, LGBTQ+ rights attorneys say that there are still openings β€” some left by the court ruling itself β€” to fight gender-affirming care bans and other anti-trans laws.

A message from Louis Staples that reads: "Strangely, it's moments like this that I feel most lucky to be queer. I think about our elders. How hopeless they must have felt. How easy it would have been to give up. But they fought for the life I get to live today. What an insult it would be, to them, to succumb to despair."

Listen. We cannot predicate fighting on winning. We're going to lose a lot in the days to come, and if we’re going to make it through the nights we need to find something to fuel us that runs deeper than hope. We’re past hope.

We don't follow hope. Hope follows us.

Inside the secret working group that helped push anti-trans laws across the country Leaked emails give a glimpse of the religious-right networks behind transgender health care bans.

These state laws banning gender-affirming care for youth are a product of religious-right and anti-LGBTQ activist organizing, starting in the years after Obergefell.

We know this, because we have the receipts. Here's my 2023 investigation.

Chase Strangio, the first openly trans lawyer to argue before the Supreme Court, also said today's ruling is much more narrow than the lower court's -- at least a small victory for trans folks.

The 2024 LGBTQI+ Community Survey from @americanprogress.bsky.social revealed many forms of discrimination and barriers to equity for LGBTQI+ folks. Perhaps among the most concerning? Abortion bans are making it harder for LGBTQI+ people find medical providers for ANY form of care.

13.05.2025 18:43 β€” πŸ‘ 10    πŸ” 6    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

It took us over a year to get this thing out through a peer review process because actual review takes time. Actual, non-bribed, non compromised review goes through iterations, and anything that went through "peer review" in a suspiciously short time is suspect.

Anywho, the Cass Review is busted.

Some of the most concerning parts of the report have to do with mental health, including the proposal to treat gender dysphoria with β€œexploratory therapy” β€” which experts are calling out as a rebanding of conversion therapy β€” and false claims that mental health assessments play little or no role in current gender-affirming care. Rolling Stone spoke with a range of experts to learn about what gender-affirming care actually involves, and why β€œexploratory therapy” could be harmful for transgender kids.

Rebranding conversion therapy as β€œexploratory therapy” doesn’t change what it is: A harmful, cruel practice with long-lasting consequences.
