I found this gem in a local bookstore.

Just submitted an application for my first ACLS fellowship. This feels surreal.

I need to put that Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" inspired one of my dissertation chapters somewhere in the body.

He is the one I am reading! I have about six of his sermons/essays to look at his connection and influence on the ecogothic/ecohorror and the boom in NPS/USFS-focused stories.

Just finished what I am hoping is the final draft of my dissertation proposal. Man, this has changed a lot since I started drafting it last Christmas.

For the 50th anniversary of Stephen King’s The Shining, eds. Jeffrey Andrew Weinstock and Tony Magistrale solicit chapter proposals for an edited collection Fifty Years of The Shining: New Essays. Proposals are welcome on any aspects of the novel, adaptations, paratexts, and cultural influence.

I have gone from watching someone play a horror game set on an oil rig to reading about summer camps around the turn of the century for my proposal. I can only imagine how weird this change of topic must look to anyone else

I don't care what anyone says, watching Jacksepticeye's playthrough of Still Wakes the Deep counts as work for my diss proposal.

Please don't forget, and don't let anyone else forget, they did this openly.

American Gothic Studies is seeking contributions for our "EXHUMATIONS" section.

Exhumations present new editions of American Gothic texts (max 12K words) that have been lost, forgotten, overlooked, or otherwise unavailable to contemporary readers.

Huh I've always seen Wickerman, Blood on Satan's Claw, and the Witchfinder General as the Big Three in folk horror scholarship. What book was this? Curious to read it
