It’s frightening to shift views on divine judgment, if escaping eternal punishment is the only reason you’ve ever done/not done anything.

⚓ I ended our Plumb Line series that I have been facilitating for Trinity Cathedral today with this beautiful blessing. May we hold this close as we navigate tumultuous waters ahead. May we return to our Christian "plumb line" when we are most challenged or in need of that grounding.

Great question. We don't (yet) but we do use it in the way my teachers in K-13 use it - administrative, formation/class-prep, etc. I will likely take some lead from EdTech where we've developed policies on its use. Much in education has some overlap. I'll want to take one to vestry this year.

I'm setting up for tonight's Trans Day of Remembrance service Livestream. This service is always incredibly emotional but it feels especially difficult this year. My heart is always with the most vulnerable members of our community and never more so than now. 🙏🌈

We are so often called to hold space for tension in paradoxical ways. I first came upon this quote when we lost my mom to cancer and my younger brother to a fluke accident in 2017/18. I do my best now to look for God's presence in unexpected places and people. My great challenge.

Never take kind gestures, small daily words of support from others, for granted. I've come to see these as reminders of the presence of the divine in our midst.

Gratitude practices (for me, through the daily examen) have been incredibly helpful in discerning the presence of God, of the light that fear can never overcome, in the darkness threatens to drown us.
