Feeling slightly nervous about the #ITFC game today. My teams in all sports never all win over a weekend, one (or more!) usually let me down. This weekend the #Brewers, on an unbelievable winning run, won twice, the #Packers (pre-season) & #Hawthorn in the #AFL both won. Ipswich it's over to you. 🤞

Another blank weekend for me footie wise as I continue to recover from the ankle injury. Hoping to be back on #nonleague and #womensfootball reporting duty in 2-3 weeks. Pencilled in a couple of days break in Dorset first weekend in September to take in the Portland United v Brockenhurst match. 👍

One of the greatest UEFA Cup runs took place in 1980/81, where Ipswich Town went on an explosive campaign to glory.

They would win the final 5-4 on aggregate, with John Wark scoring a record 14 goals in the competition that season.

Just been up my local supermarket and wondered when the cash back option disappeared? Was this another consequence of Covid and the rise of contactless payments?

What have I just watched in the #AFL? St Kilda, 46 points behind going into the 4th quarter, come back and win it with the last kick of the game! Wow! 👏👏👏

Watching the Tour stage this afternoon and amazed just how depressing the ad breaks are. A constant flow of charities pleading for funds, bloody cremation ads and just how many new gold coins are they going to mint? Seems like a new one every week!

Sergei Baltacha, first Soviet player to play in English league. Remember his first game for us well, a 5-1 win over Stoke in the late 80s.

Ipswich Town & Fortuna Dusseldorf. I believe a group of the Fortuna fans followed Ipswich & kept on coming over for games with an ever growing following, then Town fans went to Dusseldorf & a few years later it was a full blown bromance. They've played each other a few times in pre-season recently.

Thanks for that, I'll have to give it a listen. I have all their albums after being drawn in hearing All Along You Knew with the fantastic Ian Anderson on No Limits back in the mid 80s. I was underwhelmed with Alive but will definitely give this a go!

Just had a notification pop up to show that my very slow, hobble to my local shop and back has taken me to another walking milestone for this year, I've now walked over 750 miles in 2025. Would have probably been closer to 900 now if I hadn't destroyed my ankle a few weeks ago! #walking

Several have me reaching for the mute button or walking out of the room but if I had to name one it'd have to be the Final bloody Countdown. Hate that song with a passion.

That was one helluva team just coming into its prime. A travesty. Not an Everton fan but enjoyed watching them and, like all top sides, could probably still name the team!

Used to like them back in the day. Palace & Luton were always partial to them I remember, Sheff Utd had an away shirt I believe, Clydebank still have one now and didn't City have one in the 70s? I did have a Toffs Peru shirt 20+years ago but no idea what happened to it!

It looks like I am going to have a theme this season, any new ground I visit, the home side have to wear striped shirts (or at a push hoops). Now off to see how many of the clubs on my 25/26 grounds wish list fit that criteria & research teams that do! #nonleague #grassroots #matchhopping

Watched the Live Aid 40 documentaries last night and was struck by the tickets for the Wembley concert costing £25 which was deemed expensive. How much would it be for a ticket these days considering it was for over 8 hours with all the top bands of the day?
