We need them to hold their shit together and sort this, quickly.

If the pendulum swings the other day and the RW media has its own way, lets say a GE happens soon and not 2029 because of their campaign, then it's curtains for anything good that might possibly happen and sayonara to democracy.

This can't be said enough, as grim as things look right here and now, we still need the government to identify where it has gone wrong and evolve accordingly. It isn't about if we like or dislike the leader, its about maintaining a barrier between ourselves and perdition (Fascism)

Its almost as if reality itself has been replaced with an alternate universe. This isn't even up is down and left is right. It's an exercise in denying observable truths that could make satire blush.

Tribalism will be this country's undoing.

I seriously don't understand how it is that even the scandal that has happened is equated with the above. Its nowhere near as bad and yes, it is terrible, evil and so much more.

There's a total lack of nuance, lack of balance and an open attempt to destroy the government that is blindingly obvious

I'm not going to block *everyone* who fails to understand this, but I will if the incomprehension is personalised & expressed aggressively or obnoxiously. In short, don't be cultish! x

We really are living in a horrid age, the tories can literally kill more than half a million of us with Covid & Austerity combined (death toll continues for both even today, just saying), rob us all of money, our futures, our friends (through divisive culture wars). And still there is exactly this.

Metroid Dread is such a nice game, they knocked it out of the park with this one.

Turbo pads make mincemeat out of the demonic Yoshi himself. (aka. Kraid)

Not quite as elaborate as sequence breaking this fight (i suck at that). But nonetheless quite satisfying.

I find it horribly dismaying and confusing because i'm on the square that it was all manufactured and i do believe that our politicians do know this too, yet we are saddled to the USA's drive to war in some way or the other and that sucks because the threat of Reform is hideous. It's exhausting.

10.02.2026 09:35 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Same thing has happened in the USA too though, so its not something that's confined to just ourselves, it's been orchestrated from beyond the government benches. Its really shitty, i hate that war is a business model and that so many politicians are neck deep in it. I Wonder if it will ever stop...

Despite of the evidence of eyes and ears that ICE is a PMC too, that Reform want it here too. Its a bit of a noggin-scratcher.

The shift in 40 years has been profound and militarism has infected parties that were once the vehicle of the left too, gotta be these junk tanks driving it.

Fair comment, something bothers me about today's RW (of all flavours). Its this warped drive to militarism, as i understand it, the right used to be big-style anti-war and this would be the deal breaker for them too, but yet, Farage too has an association with the MEF (Middle East Forum).

Is our Government Complicit in Genocide? The Genocide Convention imposes obligations on states and individuals not just to punish the crime of genocide but to actively prevent it. Two years into the war in Gaza and over 20 months since thโ€ฆ

1. Many here seem bemused by the anger and disappointment this government attracts. Please bear with me while I try to explain it.
Letโ€™s begin with Gaza. Starmerโ€™s complicity is one of the major reasons so many people are disillusioned.

Then there is how that affects ourselves, because of the mistakes and scandals this misplaced trust produces, it harms our perceptions of them and we can definitely see it, it's widespread. Because of several years of meltdown, its began to fester, so its also understandable that resent exists.

10.02.2026 07:28 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

See, i'm neutral about this...I think the democratic crisis is about trust, there's the vetting on part of governments, either tory or labour and that they place too much trust in their procedures, the "good chap" theory of governance is probably the mindset. It left them weak against mavericks.

Hung about to see if he was here to interact like a normal human being or just act like an interactive Daily Telegraph headline and yup, it was the latter, so blocked him/it, strange species, all they want to do is cause aggro and argue for zero reason other than "blah blah, the right are innocent"๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

God Farage is a bore. He voted against improving workersโ€™ rights. He doesnโ€™t want us to have control over our lives. He demands that we live within the stifling confines of his stale old prejudices and resentments.
Fewer rights. Less protection. More exploitation.
Thatโ€™s his plan for the rest of us.

Jeez, that guy, if he had his own way, every worker would have shock collars, a barcode and be on a chaingang. It's nuts that so many would find this appealing, thats some kinda of wierd control fetish that they have. Its creepy as all fuck.

When he was a Tory politician (you remember, just after he was binned as a Labour one) female colleagues were free to express their disgust at his blatant misogyny. โ€œLee is an odious sexist,โ€ was Anna Soubryโ€™s irrefutable conclusion. I wonder what his current colleagues will have to sayโ€ฆ

They're stuck in a time long past and have an image of the powerful man and subordinate women, always was the case with the hard right nutjobs. They'd say that because we disagree, it makes us "bleeding heart liberals", but it is better to be that, than a heartless monster that promotes misogyny.

09.02.2026 17:32 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 13    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

We need you all to bring people with you and to stop hitting the left with a stick, it's butchering you're voter base and giving Farage a place to park his tanks.

It is imperative that you cease with your fear of Trump and align with better politics for the sake of us all. People, not party.

This is bad enough without making claims of riches when we know we've been fleeced, start thinking about your words. Clinging on may make this worse or not, you'll have to deal with that. Your going to have to start listening to your critics and make concessions too and no, not to the right.

09.02.2026 15:42 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

One can hope that they may be able to do something like that, should it happen. It would certainly alter discourse and potentially cool down the debate. I'm unsure what the LibDems are really doing lately, it's like radio silence. Its all so messy.

Jesus H Christ, i saw this making it's rounds last night, it's the most insideous piece of potential victim blaming that i've seen in a very long time, morally repugnant thing for anyone to even think, let alone say, these people are damaged goods.

09.02.2026 13:07 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The human aspect of it all, is that of denial and to a degree it was a predictable response, but the harm is done there. "sick and tired of being sick and tired" is one of those hidden parts of this all, unspoken for the sake of peace and quiet. It's rather complex.

09.02.2026 12:53 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Ironically, ignoring such a problem also alienated a substantial number of voters, including myself. Understanding the stakes, i'm prepared to "hold my nose", but don't feel happy about it.

Solving that problem could have been massive, however, groupthink stood in the way, again, an unforced error.

09.02.2026 12:51 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It is, that feels like an attack on political identity as much as it was deceitful, completely unforced error on the part of Labour's team. Covid changed a lot in terms of how politicking was handled, essentially, they wanted it out of the headlines and opted to play the culture wars game.

09.02.2026 12:49 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Indeed, i suspect that in some places, Labour may have to give way and the other way around to effectively block the right from power, they're half expecting that and some will be resistant to such for the aforementioned factionalism, totally agree. We need a total shift in direction posthaste.
