One of the sources, may well have been a show named "Byker Grove", slowly, there started to be dramatised narratives that included race, that would have been the first time i encountered the " P " word. Since that point, hate accelerated and the schoolyard became a battleground.

The 90's were when things started to really break in the schools, i can still remember when racism crept into conversations. It was confusing because until then, nobody was bothered about race or social status, even fashion became weaponized, it happened quite fast.

Indeed, it is puzzling, the ladder was being pulled up when our lot were in school, from like age 5-8, i was reverse engineering ZX spectrum programs and learning how to read machine code, occasionally dismantling electricals and fixing them when my parents were out, i could have used the quals.

Its a shame that education became a commodity too, feels like theres so much lost potential. The divide between the haves and have nots seems like it's created two different UK's, perhaps the resent comes from those systemic forces. It's hard to pin since things are in flux.

Jeez, its remarkable how similar it sounds, I think i'm on the same page too with accents, i never actually picked up the bulk of the ole' "geordie" dialect, first noticed it in my 20's when i'd be speaking and get peculiar remarks like "where are you from?", i couldn't unpick it for ages.

Damn, that's rough, i recall my parents were more the "go hit the biggest one" mindset, it would have been game over if i tried that at the time in school, while there most of the time it was like mad max. So many broken kids post-thatcher. Eventually did get even with some of them though.

I'm not convinced the polling is legit at the best of times, but across Ipsos, Yougov and Politico, there is this downward trend. The sudden uptick in rhetoric since the Gill conviction & the racism allegations suggests panic too.

I think there was still a lot of that in our generation, that makes sense. When they started to try to do something about bullying, it shifted towards if or not our parents had a job, remember my dad telling me about when he was in school. Feels like it starts at home for sure.

So sorry to hear it, the grooming which the right takes part in every day creates real-life harms, earlier on LBC there was several callers speaking of how children have been changed by that they consume online, literally, they're making more and more bullies.

What to watch for is the deflections or increases in rhetoric from Reform now (or their supporters), because if they're forming a phalanx around this guy who is revealed as a nasty, anti-semite with a clear hatebang for anyone different, that in of itself suggests he is not who he claims to be.

Yes, the panicking, pearl clutching response in contrast to not only a story which has been corroborated, but there is no sense of panic when Peter is speaking, no sort of narrative, he's just straight to the point and doesn't particularly seem to have a grudge or anything, Farage does though.

What i find most striking though, is Farage's reaction, a guy who is all about accepting alternate views, even if we disagree with them. Why is it that there is such the hurry for the "left wing" label in Reform's retort? There is no indication of political leaning, it seems like utter conjecture.

Very interesting conversation, see, this is what bullying does, it scars. It never goes away, amazing that so many have risen up to support the man, frankly, that gives me a lot of hope.
