I've done my own research. I've learned that almost everyone driving a car that's been in an accident has vision between 20/40 and 20/20. We've known this for years, yet people with so called "good vision" are still allowed to drive. These people are dangerous and their licenses must be taken away.

The next time you hear the tired, old: "But it's simple science: XX = female and XY = male!!" go ahead and share this abstract of an article about how the gender of birds is easy to misidentify (and gender change is not uncommon) from the Royal Society.

Do you know the old saying that suggests when you become deficient in one of the senses, another improves to compensate? Well, I've found out that it's true? I now have a heightened sense of irony. (I was hoping for a better fashion sense, but I suppose you can't have everything.)

Undeniable that DLSD is terrible. But get a couple of blocks away from it and you can find some wonderful, dense, tree-filled, very walkable neighborhoods (which is why I moved here from New England).

After 25 years in Providence, Rhode Island, My spouse and I spent 2 years trying to figure out where to retire. I have low vision and can't drive so it needed to be as walkable as possible. We moved to Lakeview East. While no place
is perfect for all kinds of reasons, this has been very good.

Rahm Emmanuel proves once again why I, who will still probably vote Democratic in the future, know that around some Democratic politicians, you always have to watch your back. By the way Rahm, how'd that $1 billion project you wanted to hand to Elon Musk work out? (q.v.: Chicago Express Loop) bcsA

The US is like a Jenga tower mid-game. It's an imperfect but delicate balance built up over a long time. If you seriously mess around with it (like pouring $47 billion into construction concentration camps, or take health care & food away from millions) the whole thing could start toppling.

The narrative works and is coherent IF and only IF you actually watch the whole thing. If you only can look at the bottom half of, say, "La Gioconda" (and, yes, I'm desperately trying to be pedantic) you can hardly judge the beauty of the painting, nor Da Vinci's talent.
