No, it stopped after Rentokil seemingly wiped out all the nature in the area. Kestrels, Squirrels, Magpies, Jays and more all vanished. But just 6 short months later they’re bouncing back, including the Jays who I especially love.

The squirrels are back, and in numbers. Evil neighbour and Rentokil got them down but not out.

After months of fearing that pest control may win and permanently wipe out the squirrels around me I’ve had a visitor!

Do you mean the Dove in Hammersmith? I’m not a beer connoisseur, but I do like it- I was working in Pennsylvania last year and they’re crazy about sours and fruity beers, micro breweries all over the place, so it felt rude not to try them. All of them. Craft beer was better there than here imo.

I was griping to my best friend about Joe Rogan and expressing my bewilderment at his money and ‘popularity’, and at the end of my 5 minute rant she turned to me and said “who is Joe Rogan?”. And I was reminded she has no social media at all and is the happiest person I know. And smartest.

Hello bluesky, I seem to be joining on the perfect day! Not sure what I will be using this account for yet but was referred by the one and only squirrel man @callame.bsky.social

If you’re near squirrels you’ve almost certainly heard them, and maybe assumed it was very loud birds. I find their shouting to be hilarious. They do it to warn about predators, scare off other squirrels, attract other squirrels etc. I’ll dig out some footage of my squirrel shooting at me.

Yeah I’m in Ealing. 100% - I saw the van outside my house and asked them. But you’re right, soon they’ll be babies & then they’ll spread out from their dreys and come back to my garden anyway. Absolutely needless. Never met my new neighbour but I think we can safely say we’re not going to be pals.

I’m so confused about it. What miserable people they must be. The thing is it’s pretty pointless as in a month or two they’ll be back anyway after spreading from further afield.
They were also occasional prey for a family of kestrel’s & a peregrine falcon family. So they’ll leave as well now. 🙁👎

If you’re wondering where the squirrel pics are I’m very sad to say that my new neighbours “didn’t like the noise they make” so hired Rentokill. Unfortunately it looks like they’ve managed to kill them all from my garden and nearby as I haven’t see one for weeks. No exaggeration to say I’m bereft.
