22.10.2025 14:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To mark Open Access Week, weβre revisiting one of our blogs from 2022, where we did a mini-analysis looking at whether open access publications receive more policy citations than paywalled ones.
To learn what we did and what we found, head to our blog:

All ready for #openaccessweek at work tomorrow.

PODCASTS
Altmetric now tracks podcasts mentioning research
In 2018 there were roughly 500,000 podcasts in existence. Just 3 years later that number was 2 million. Today it's around 4 million.
Amid all the Squarespace ads there's citations to research.
Let's go

Having fun making little bats for our welcome week yarn bombing project. One on the right was my prototype. I think the one on the left is better anatomically #bats #crochet

Great to see goldfinches feeding on the seeds of wildflower patch we planted in our garden this year. I've seen them on lavender before but I think these were on cornflowers. Taken from the kitchen window so full grainy zoom #birds #gardens #RDGUK

Nish Kumar wanted to know: so, climate change, are we screwed?
My answer: we are not screwed, yet.

I think you are spot on with the ID. We've seen more bald eagles today on Vancouver Isand and there were lots of juveniles on show
21.06.2025 03:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Possibly, though the chicks from this adult were still in the nest as we saw them being fed the large fish

Could this be a golden eagle? It had an altercation with a bald eagle by Medicine Lake, near Jasper, Alberta, Ca. We think the band eagle stoke a fish from the other bird #birds #eagles #rockies

What an amazing bird to find perching at the bottom of your small urban garden! We get them overhead all the time but have not had one landed before. Red kite reintroduction has been a real success in Southern UK. Taken through an upstairs window #birds #redkite #Milvus #RdgUK
