Waiting in Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station for the Amtrak train to Pittsburgh where I will transfer to the next Amtrak train to Chicago.

After a morning session at life drawing down in Chicago’s Gold Coast, I had lunch at a eatery I like with good food and very nice lighting. Sketched a woman with a puffy quilted jacket. Fun to draw by took more time than I anticipated with all the puffy diamonds the fabric had.

After a morning session at life drawing I stopped for lunch at a familiar spot and decided to “sketch” the woman I a shawl with a quilted jacket draped over her chair. Got a bit bogged down in the jacket.

John Bakker spoke about his project to paint portraits of people who live, work, worship, shop, or visit Old Town neighborhood of Chicago’s. Sponsored by neighborhood art center Art on Sedgwick. Completed it will be 400 portraits on 317 panels, on display at Public Library 310 West Division Street.
