This was the painting that got away from me. It was going to be my nocturne painting……but the owner moved it that night. So plan “B” was my Coleman bridge nocturne view from the fishing pier.

80 years ago, Howard Brodie in 1945 created a front line illustration of a rifle company medic in WWII.

Painting dump of my favorite demos I did for my Wednesday evening class. We used water soluble oils, which IMHO is probably the best alternative for those wanting to go solvent free. I like Cobra water soluble paints the best. #art #bluskyart #painting #artist

“9:15 on a Friday Night” - 9x12 oil on canvas from last Wednesday’s class demo using Cobra water-soluble oils. These are great paints to start off with and are completely non-toxic for those worried about working with solvents. The chroma is better than other brands so far that I’ve tried.

JAWS movie poster for the NARO is done and off to the printers! I’ll be selling JAWS posters all weekend or until they sell out at the NARO Cinema in Ghent Norfolk.

“Waitin’ on Steve” was accepted into the AIS National Exhibition!

While in Florida waiting for my Dad’s appointment I drove around looking for a spot to paint. It took about fifteen minutes to find a colorful food truck with steady customers. Sadly, no time to eat the local food as I had to pack up and leave after getting most of the painting completed. #bluskyart

Sleep deprivation. Working full time, then staying up all night to compete in a plein air event is grueling. This was Coastal Virginia Plein Air. I don’t remember much of this event. My illustration instructors used to say, “You can sleep when you die.” Good that they don’t feel that way now.

I'm still on my Steven King read-a-thon, I'm now on "Dr. Sleep", the continuation of Danny from "The Shining". So far, it's really good! Here's my sold out NARO poster showing of "The Shining". Would love to get a shot at doing the poster for the Dr. Sleep movie if it comes to the Naro Cinema.
