Trump campaigned on promises of policies that would be racist and also on policies that would hurt farmers (high tariffs). The way in which these Iowans voted shows what was more important to them. They need to live with their choice.

I personally have a subscription to the Atlantic but it is one of the few magazines that is not available in our city’s public library, either online or in-house.

I received both my BS in Physics and my MD from the University of Illinois (at Urbana and Chicago, resp) and even after almost fifty years I still have good memories of the experience. I’d rank the U of I higher than 36th.

If fair and free democracy survives the next 3 years, and that is a big if, we must make whatever changes we can in the law and (if even possible) in the Constitution so that we never again have an administration like this one.
