With a few bug fixes and a more natural placement in the level editor, inclined walls are now fully supported :D I love that the rendering worked as-is, for once the overcomplication paid off

I finally implemented something I always wanted to have in my engine: inclined walls! Under the hood it's still AABB collision checking, but a local coordinates translation adds a whole new dimension to my level design :D

I finally decided to add prefabs to my engine :D
It took a bit more than an hour to get the core functionality done. Time to spend three days on the last 20% of the implementation (removing the jank)

Behold, persistent rooms! Rather than respawning every enemy on re-entry like in a traditional metroidvania, I decided to try the soulslike route of letting small enemies stay dead until you retry the level. Let's see if it works out fine!

They look gorgeous, they remind me of a series of toys you could find in Kinder Surprise eggs in the 90s!
How long did it take to make them if I may ask? And did you have to UV map them too or are the colors just separate materials?
Experimenting with different styles, this wooden floor isn't bad but it definitely needs some decorations to break it up...

Seeing people play Demons Happened was such a strong motivation that I finally, FINALLY added the coffee break scene I cut 3 years ago for a lack of time. It's just as peaceful as I hoped, and a well deserved pause in the challenging 2nd world :D

Not being tile based (questionable decision, ngl), this was a big constraint that kept the aesthetic of Demons Happened's worlds more consistent but much less varied. Time for colors!
