Like, at a certain size, her armored bra pops off and it ceases to function as a "shield" in the D&D mechanical sense. So her Armor Class drops by two points.

In terms of her size, one thought was to have spells that hit her boost her size based on the Spell Slot Level of the spell. So, a Level 1 spell 1 point of size, etc. Hit a certain number of size points and things happen...
