I believe the best way to save the Teignmouth Lido for future generations is for #Teignmouth Town Council to become the custodian owner of the site (via Community Asset Transfer) and let 'Save the Lido' community group to operate it.

Neighboring Teignbridge Council has offer to lend Exeter City Council its Elections team. So there won't be capacity issues and no reason to cancel local elections.

The media ignore @libdems.org.uk and try to talk up Greens and ReformUK, but real votes in real elections show a different story.

Only 1 principal council by-elections this week, carried out using the AV system. The Conservative result (falling to sixth, losing three-quarters of their vote share), is in part due to the by-election being caused by the previous Conservative councillor having been jailed for fraud & embezzlement!

The Grand Pier is privately owned by six people (I've been told). This makes Lottery et al investment difficult.

Martin Wrigley MP visited today to see the damage that storm Ingrid had caused Teignmouth seafront and the Grand Pier. Martin is calling on government to help fund the clean up at Teignmouth and if there is any help that can be given to restore the Pier, notwithstanding it being privately owned.

Yesterday, there was a Town Council by election in South Molton which Katie Pittman won for the @libdems.org.uk. Good result in the Cotswolds

Interesting, unpleasant people. Nevertheless the Chagosians have been appallingly treated by the British government and the Mauritius government. Can you imagine Falkland Islanders or Gibraltarians treated this way? If they want to be a self-governing overseas territory they should have that right.
