I wouldn't have transitioned if not for Gitarre. She's gorgeous and hideous and a core part of me now.

So when I hop into duty finder and 4/10 times get called The Joker... 😭

I put a significant amount of effort into my FFXIV character back in beta test for ARR. I'd always loved the galka for being genderless in FFXIV, and while 14 had a different lore, I loved the general vibe of the femroes, especially the hellsguard.

I have the same problem and running palace of the dead from floor one helps a lot

failing that just try sequential dungeons to get an abbreviated version of that

on a bright note, spoiler embargo notwithstanding, I am a big fan. I was iffy on stormblood msq (post-patch was great), but I feel like they learned a lot and improved how they handled both someone else's story and a split msq. the themes tied together really well and the story felt consistent.

For the record I'm not getting into it save for this: I have a personal policy to avoid public criticism of trans women and I think anyone who considers themselves an ally should consider the same. It is too easy to HAL someone.

It's a bad time to be trans in the ff14 fandom.

Emet-Selch doesn't know until after the Dying Gasp, but Hyth immediately figures it out.

Elidibus knew but forgot.

General timeline consequences about the switch: Ardbert knows, Hydaelyn knows, G'raha was easily tricked, Estinien knows, the rest of the scions are in on it. City-state leaders vary.

Lyse knows, is offended, and really wants to say something about it but the other scions just give her a look.

That said while he didn't crack Gitarre's egg, he did shock her into formally coming out (she thought she was doing well at boymoding).

So timeline is roughly:
Patch 2.4: Meets Moenbryda & joins polycule
Patch 2.55: Bonds with Urianger
Patch 4.O: WoL dies
Patch 4.O: Gitarre replaces and comes out

Beyond that, the former WoL was early in transition and a grieving Thancred, who is not quite on the up and up re:queer theory, figured the pre-transition Gitarre could easily fill in, given their similar (read:masculine) features.

Thancred got better. He wasn't a complete asshole, just unfamiliar.

Gitarre is a goldsmith by trade who came to Mor Dhona pre-transition by invite of Tataru to help with the construction on Revenant's Toll. While there, she met Moenbryda joining in a hinge relationship with Moen as the pivot. After the events of 2.5, she and Urianger bonded platonically.

Basic info:
Gitarre is not the warrior of light, who died in the attack on Rhalgr's Reach. Thanks to some quick thinking from Thancred, Gitarre is a stand-in who has been acting as WoL since then where the canon more or less resumes (minus echo, blessing of light).
