Today’s find: a 1930’s fortune telling tea cup. Sadly cracked, but that made it affordable.

This is Lulu. She will be 18 next month. We bought her a heated cat bed and she now spends approximately 26 to 28 hours a day in it.

Not an academic, but… there is absolutely very little order to these bookshelves. Messy shelves are normal.

I lost a friend after the election for essentially the same reason. The assignment was democracy or fascism and these people chose fascism.

One of my great Oakland White Elephant Sale finds: a complete set of the Dover color fairy books. I hesitated before grabbing them not due to the price, but because my shelves are already overfull.

FWIW, “Condom Bombs” is a great name for a punk band.

No says the guy who just read “Treasure Island” for the first time and may be diving back into the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs.

I understand he has a concept of a plan to lower egg prices which he will be presenting to us in two weeks.

He’s assuming all these young folk will live to voting age after RFK Jr bans vaccines.

I also recommend “Stamped From The Beginning” (if you haven’t read it already) to help round out that collection. (Ok, also “Stongmen.”)

I found a few 1940s pin up decks at the antique fair today. The white dress one is still sealed. The three single decks are Gil Elvgren art.

He’s been disruptive for the last eight years. Why. Won’t. He. Go. Away.

I taught someone how to use chopsticks last night. She then used them for the entire meal. Small things are often significant. #lifeskills

FWIW, I bet Andrew Jackson could take both of them at once without breaking a sweat.
