Added a hidden โcolor stats for nerdsโ view to OKPalette.
Built it for myself during dev, then spent a bit of time making it look decent and shipped it.
Press CMD/ctrl + i if you enjoy staring at chroma + hue distributions way too much.

The click โ panel connection is immediate, making it feel more haptic.

The giant nebula NGC 3603 is a prominent star-forming region in the Carina spiral arm of our galaxy, about 20,000 light-years away. Within its core is nestled a stellar "jewel box" of thousands of sparkling young stars, one of the most massive young star clusters in the Milky Way Galaxy. The cluster is surrounded by purple clouds of interstellar gas and dust โ the raw material for new star formation. This bubble provides an unobstructed view of the cluster and reveals stages in the life cycle of stars.
A globular cluster that looks like a very dense, ball-shaped collection of many shining stars in colors of white, yellow-orange, and blue. Some stars appear a bit larger and brighter than others, with the brightest having faint cross-shaped diffraction spikes. The clusterโs stars are scattered mostly uniformly, with their density increasing toward the clusterโs core where they merge into a strong, bright-white glow.
Thousands of bright stars shine against black space, more tightly condensed near the imageโs center. The stars glint in shades of white, blue, and red, and diffraction spikes are visible around the foreground stars.
A spherical collection of stars which fills the whole view. The cluster is dominated by a concentrated group of bright white stars at the center, with several large yellow stars scattered throughout the image. Many of the stars have visible diffraction spikes. The background is black.

Extending from the rose to upper left and lower right are gaseous outflows that appear as red lobes that have an overall shape of tall, narrow triangles with rounded tips. Each red triangle is made up of wavy, irregular lines. Dozens of stars are scattered across the field. One particularly bright white star with eight diffraction spikes is located at the top of the yellow rose. Another bright blue star with even more prominent diffraction spikes is to its lower left. In what appears as a celestial dreamscape, a blue and black sky filled with brilliant stars covers about two thirds of the image. The stars are different sizes and shades of white, beige, yellow, and light orange. Across the bottom third of the scene is a craggy, mountain-like vista with spire-like peaks and deep, seemingly misty valleys. These so-called mountains appear in varying shades of orange, yellow, and brown. The soaring spires are going up, up, up, where a wispy, ethereal white cloud stretches horizontally across the scene. Steam appears to rise from the mountaintops and join with this cloud. At the top, right corner of the image, a swath of orange and brown structure cuts diagonally across the sky.
A wide-field image of IRAS 16594-4656 taken by the James Webb Space Telescope. The nebulaโs bright core is split by a narrow dark band, with expansive rainbow lobes of light and color radiating outward. Numerous background galaxies and stars are visible across the field.
The complicated structure at the centre of the Butterfly Nebula, NGC 6302. There is a bright source at the centre that is surrounded by greenish nebulosity and several looping lines in cream, orange and pink. One of these lines appears to form a ring oriented vertically and nearly edge-on around the bright source at the centre. Other lines trace out a figure eight shape. Moving outward from these complex lines and green nebulosity, there is a section of red light on either side of the object. The upper-right and lower-left corners of this image show a purple streak pointing out of the image.
