I finally set up an external hard drive with automatic backup software on my pc.... Because I'm really smart and have been just trusting my computer for years to not eat my files 🤡

Watching comic writers/artists beg for money for medical bills, while their creations reap billions, has been quite eye-opening.

The "work for hire"/freelance set-up of comics work is not great for most creators, in terms of long-term benefit. This is one reason (among others) to actively support creator-owned comics when you can, alongside the work you may enjoy from Marvel/DC/etc.

I literally haven’t been hired by some companies for 6 years after I told them I was sick and couldn’t do last minute deadlines any longer- I am physically unable to. I’ve been in and out of hospitals with 1 major surgery and still in recovery. This industry is unhealthy and grinds people down.

He's an ex-cop turned embassy security guard who's now very jaded about the whole system. He has a heart condition that was "solved" by a faulty cybernetic/bionic heart, and a cybernetic leg, both of which give him chronic pain. But really, he's a big softy 🥺
