Learning to Flirt and Flounce.

I had just seen "Wicked," and this image reminded me of the song and dance when Glinda decides she's going to make Elphaba popular. It made me giggle.

Light is simple. It is focused. It is diffused. It is harsh. It is soft. It is colorful. It is white. It sparkles. It lies heavy. It is blinding. It is healing. Light is complex.

I discovered a sunbeam today. It stopped me in my tracks. This kind of light only lasts a few minutes, so rather than getting my rig, I pulled out my my iPhone and grabbed what I could. I'll be standing at the bottom of the stairs, prepared, tomorrow!

Last dance. Flamboyant.

Last dance. Still fabulous.

Alone on the dance floor, twirling and laughing at herself and the world she knew.

I walked into the studio and found all the lilies I had been saving for portraits languishing without water and attention. So, for the last couple of days I've been capturing for a little collection I call "Last Dance."

In the quiet of morning.

When the light makes water milky. I have so seldom seen this let alone captured it as an image. I was lucky the other day to do both.

This is a horizontal image of calla lilies. The left side has a black background with white calla lilies and the right side has almost-black calla lilies on a white background. Their stems are intertwined.
