I don’t disagree at all. Was just pointing out that that was the thrust of the article: she couldn’t blame Brexit now without raising the question of why she hasn’t all along.

The article states that nothing has changed since before and being elected with respect to the known impact of Brexit, so blaming it now is disingenuous and discredits her integrity.

I agree that he’s planning on staying. Though also think he would spend that amount of other people’s money for even a week’s holiday.

Successful campaigns recognise and welcome supportive criticism rather than shun it. But each to their own. I’ll not be pressing follow or commenting anymore.

I’m not opposing improvements. I’m trying to point out that your path to getting to those improvements is unlikely to succeed because you frame the terms incorrectly and bat away anyone who suggests this. The fact that you have to result to ad hominem insults suggests to me you know this.

Perhaps reasonable in relation to some other places, but I do find eating out in the UK to have become very expensive since Covid.

The UK is NOT offering 6 mos to EU citizens. It is offering 6 mos to all visa free 3rd country nationals, as it had long before Brexit. Same with the EU in relation to UK. This isn’t about pre or post-Brexit. Pretending it is undermines your argument, imo.

That still sounds quite pricey to me- or rather, standard sort of cost, which is pricey.

They are not the UK’s post Brexit arrangements though, they are the UK’s pre-Brexit arrangements for visa-free 3rd country nationals, as are the EU’s. These arrangements became reciprocal post-Brexit at the UK’s request. Making the EU the bad guy here is wrong and hugely exceptionalist.

Believing that London validates this opinion is - respectfully - part of the problem. London is as safe, multicultural, and welcoming as it always was. Though the right want the rest of the country to believe otherwise to smear Khan and further their overarching aims.

I was harassed overnight on here. The first time anywhere online. It’s unpleasant. I won’t name the people - one posting endlessly, one liking each post - but have reported the instigator. If we can’t politely disagree without being viciously accused of being a fake account, what is Bluesky for?

It’s funny. Even though it’s very minor stuff - I do feel a little like I’ve been punched after having woken up. I can only imagine what a sustained and serious harassment campaign would do to someone. Horrible.
