I'm not saying the meme stuff in the teaser was great (it's not even a scene from the film!), but the concept is absolutely fine to me.

I hope Shrek 5 doesn't go full legacy sequel/obsess over referencing 1-4. Ppl moaned about the TikTok/meme stuff in the teaser, but THAT self referential stuff is fine - it's always skewered pop culture, why not get meta? But NO constant references & rehashed gags from the other films for nostalgia.

Like it or not, the age of 'the MCU' is over. The die-hards will stick around and they'll continue to be successful (relatively speaking), but the casual audience is done. Who can be bothered keeping up with 2/3 mediocre films a year anymore? Especially when it was all wrapped up so well previously.

I've since realised that this list doesn't have Shrek 2 (2004) or WALL-E (2008), and for that I was wrong.

Yuck. Just watch the OG. 86 years old and still one of the most magical films ever made. If ever a classic didn't need 'touching up'...

Her performance in MD makes perhaps my favourite scene in all of cinema. Beautiful and haunting. I was lucky enough to see her perform live at @tpukevents.bsky.social in 2018 and she was stunning. Just like listening to the screen versions of her performances. An incredible voice. RIP.

I've learned to never say never with these things, but on balance I think you're right.

Dan Trachtenberg hasn't just saved the Predator franchise, he's made it stronger than ever. Killer of Killers is bloody brilliant. Badlands can't come soon enough.

I mean, there were plenty of episodes, even during the creative peak of the first season and a half, where Lynch neither directed nor wrote. That being said, he was still one of the creative heads/show runners. His influence since then (FWWM/The Return) goes without saying. I'm conflicted.

My feelings on whether it should happen are nuanced, but my feelings don't really matter. It's Mark's baby too. I'm a huge fan of his work and I'd definitely be excited to see what he can cook up.

So, it seems M. Frost is open to a Twin Peaks continuation in some form. I'd be very surprised if some streamer or another isn't breaking down his door at some point to get that on TV. Perhaps paired with a new, respected writing partner.

A very big Star Wars podcast starting this week's episode joking about dead Ghormans as "fried meat" for a hotdog. I get that this stuff is fantasy, but I just think, maybe read the room? Kinda put me off for good.

23 Years Later, Star Wars' Most Unexpected Sci-Fi Inspiration Makes A Glorious Return In 'Andor' Season 2, Bix and Cassian are basically living in Deckard's apartment in 'Blade Runner.' Here's why.

And it's INCREDIBLE! Let's keep adding new flavours of Star Wars. But please spare us the "this is what George Lucas always wanted!" when it's clearly something very different to that. We have his six films, we can see the stark contrast right in front of us.

The most purely Lucasian Star Wars show has to be The Mandalorian. It just is. Look at it. Listen to it. Andor takes one aspect of OG Star Wars (the political backdrop), brings it to the front, and strips away all the fun in order to take it more seriously than ever before.

They're literally hopeful kids films and whizz bang adventure stories played out through mythological archetypes. Equal parts Shakespearean space opera and Saturday morning cartoon. It's Joseph Campbell's Flash Gordon with goofy aliens in rubber masks. These are pros, not cons.

'Everything else is kids playing with action figures! This is cooler than Jedi and force rubbish! Star Wars doesn't deserve Andor' seems to be the trending attitude. Complete nonsense if you actually watch George's six films with your eyes and ears open, of course.

Andor is a masterpiece that inspires the absolute worst takes from some who recognise its greatness.

Just saw someone describe Andor as "the most George Lucas" Star Wars show, which is just hilariously wrong. The man would've sooner made The Book of Boba Fett, and I don't mean that disparagingly.

One of my favourite shots in all of Star Wars. It's like a renaissance painting. Mon Mothma gazing back towards the life she's leaving behind. Her family and friends sacrificed for the struggle. Before heading to the party and dancing through the pain.

I just listened to this episode - very good list, can't really argue with any of them being included. One of my top 10 that wasn't mentioned - The Sith Lord, Tales of the Jedi - sooooo good.
