Shaggy is safe with us now. He calmed down a lot.

We will let him decompress for a couple of days before getting him groomed, vet checks and rebuilding his life.

Wolf population in Belgium is hanging by a thread, says wildlife group "Everything is hanging by a thread; if one of the adult wolves is hit, the chances of having cubs shrink enormously."

No wolf pups were born in Flanders in 2024 + Belgium is only home to approx. 20 wolves total. Conservation organizations are asking for wildlife crossings and fencing along high-risk roads, + hope to see more punishment for wolf poachers.

Public comments on Board of Game proposals are due by TODAY (12/27) + there are several that target wolves. Some call for extending trapping seasons and one especially egregious proposal would allow ADFG to kill 73-80% of wolves in one unit.

Snickers is proof that in a hard and brutal world all you need sometimes is a little kindness.
