I think you're 100% on the money and I think queer and otherwise marginalized characters are only going to keep becoming more commonplace in fiction. Not because of a representation push, but because a lot of good writers are rapidly learning they can add a wealth of depth to characters this way.

Idk if Necronomico actually has super deep insights into streamer culture, the attention economy, or how parasocial relationships affect content creators; but it's so weird in such a specific way that I can't help but tune in every week.

For as much as I think anime (and media generally) that explicitly focus on “the queer experience” are important, I love that queer characters casually existing is becoming more commonplace in anime!
