It’s confirmed by testimonies from detainees, soldiers, doctors who served there, and by the number of Palestinians who were arrested alive and returned as corpses. How many? In January, the IDF claimed 46 detainees died in custody. Since then, the numbers have grown.

Here’s a testimony from a soldier who served at Sde Teiman: "You see normal, pretty ordinary people, reaching a point where they abuse people for their own amusement, not even for an interrogation or anything. 🔴 Breaking: Israeli Army Launches Criminal Investigation Into Whistleblowers Who Exposed Detainee Rape at Sde Teiman The Israeli army has opened a criminal probe into the leak of footage from the Sde Teiman detention camp showing a Palestinian detainee – blindfolded, handcuffed, and restrained – being raped for roughly 15 minutes by a unit of Israeli reservists, all caught on surveillance cameras. The investigation focuses not on the perpetrators, but on whether officials in the Military Advocate General’s office helped leak the video to Channel 12. Israel’s chief military prosecutor, Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, has taken leave amid the scandal. Earlier, prosecutors indicted five reservists at Sde Teiman for “severe abuse” that left a detainee with broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a torn rectum. Efforts to hold them accountable sparked riots outside Israeli bases – dubbed Israel’s “right-to-rape” rallies – as civilians defended the soldiers accused of raping Palestinians.

Ce serait une belle ironie du sort si #NicolasSarkozy pouvait être poursuivi pour "appel à la haine" dans cette affaire de messages menaçant le juge qui a lu la condamnation de l'ancien président, même si cette décision était collégiale. J'espère qu'il saura défende l'Etat de droit, cette fois-ci.

Enfin, il y a aussi eu #Bygmalion et le dépassement du financement de la campagne présidentielle de 2012. #NicolasSarkozy a dû vraiment croire qu'il était au dessus du droit, sous toutes ses formes. Les différentes condamnations sont bien la preuve du contraire: nul n'est au dessus de la loi!

Il faut s'intéresser aux méthodes de #NicolasSarkozy pour mieux apprécier le personnage. (1) Ecoutes avec un téléphone enregistré au nom de #PaulBismuth. (2) Libye avec un montage rocambolesque pour financer la campagne présidentielle mais seulement une condamnation pour association de malfaiteurs.

#NicolasSarkozy: deux condamnations déjà mais il continue de dire que c'est la justice aux ordres, y compris sous un pouvoir dont il est plus que proche. Personnellement, je crois que ces condamnations sont plutôt la preuve de l'Etat de droit: personne n'est au dessus de la loi. Ni même Sarkozy!

Lastly, there was a precedent with #JudgeSebutinde when #WikiLeaks published #USDiplomaticCables referring to a conversation that she had with a #USDiplomat. In that case as well, we are yet to know the full story (www.theguardian.com/world/2010/d...). She therefore needs to do better to convince.
