If you want to see characters grow, and sit very firmly within their own universes, there are so many incredible indie comics for you to check out. And often those comics are very explicitly riffs on those Big 2 characters, so you can really eat your cake and have it too.

I've seen a number of takes that amount to "Marvel and DC characters should age and retire and stop being so interconnected etc". So I suppose my hot take is that they should keep being what they are. It's a very weird experiment that has many limitations, but it's an odd thing worth preserving
