No pets or family members were hurt, alarmed or otherwise inconvenienced by my consumption of this libationβ¦π
Hope so Ruth. Thereβs an oak tree just over the road which has been sending a few species my way so fingers crossed π€

12/8 low numbers and no surprises. A couple of Blairβs Shoulder Knots were NFY.
Another year and Iβve yet to bag a Merv or passing Clifden despite trying to will both into existenceβ¦π

More news about an incredible a Middle Jurassic (~170 mya) dinosaur tracksite near Oxford (U.K.), which includes one of the longest continuous dinosaur trackways in the world, made by a big sauropod. π§ͺπ¦πΎπͺ¨ #ichnology

7/10 over both traps. A little disappointing tbh. After the warm, calm day and a fairly cloudy night here I was expecting a few more. Still, there was a nice Black Rustic and a random Eudonia angustea (to be checked) on the kitchen window.
Is it thoughβ¦? π€π€£

Terrible lo-red phone pic, unfortunately it flew off before I could get in with my camera. Anyone confident enough to offer an ID based on it please? Thanks.

Black Rustic
Lime-speck Pug
Caloptilia semifacia
Wolverhampton SJ90
42/15 which I thought wasnβt bad given the cool clear night. No lifers or NFG but there were 3 handsome Black Rustics, a Lime-speck Pug and a Caloptilia semifacia.

Thanks for this Andy. Iβll definitely get out in the garden with my UV torch now π

21/11. I set up next to the pool on the holiday smallholding and was absolutely inundated with midges and mossiesβ¦π¬
Added a few common moths to the cottage list. Had one lifer, the Gold Triangle. Also the attractive Carcina quercana, only the second Iβve seen.

Another wander around Arne today. No outstanding highlights but watching a Firecrest flit about just above our heads was cool. We only managed about 5.5 miles as my leg and foot are absolute murder atm! π¬

16/9 nothing outstanding tonight unless ObsID is right with Scoparia ambigualis. That will be new for me. What do you reckon @mothiduk.bsky.social ?
Thanks Phil. I just looked at their size and colour and thought Fallow. Iβll take a look at that page, thanks π

Visited the excellent Dorchester museum today to see the Jane Austen exhibition. TBH we actually found it rather underwhelming. However, I did spy this exhibit about naturalists Helen and Nelson Richardson.

16/10. Following yesterdayβs torrential rain and thunderstorms it was good to be able to snatch a couple of hours at the front of the cottage. Not a brilliant result and with no stand-outs, but a different mix to the previous trap.
