Any ideas what might have made these footprints in the sand? I thought maybe a stoat?

Saw so much fungi wandering the woods at Culbin. Found the classic red & white Fly Agaric, some strange looking black, wrinkly ones: Elfin Saddle. We also found Moor Club: bright yellow fungi that look like fingers sticking out of the ground!

Spent a great morning at Kilnsea Wetlands last week. Lots to see including my first ever Roesel’s Bush-Cricket along with the bird life.

For the first time since I started birding I passed 200 bird species seen in a year with this lifer pectoral sandpiper at Kilnsea Wetlands last week.

Spotted at Hornsea Mere last week. Whiter head made me think it might be Caspian Gull. Thankfully it was colour ringed & thanks to Ronald Klein confirmed as a Caspian ringed in Hiddensee, Germany 09/06/23.
Year tick 199 ✅
Lifer tick 222 ✅

I really enjoyed my first visit to @spurnbirdobs last week. Highlights included great views of grey wagtail from the hide; snipe, whimbrel & curlew sandpiper along the shoreline; lots of winter thrushes arriving & dark-bellied Brent geese.
#UKBirding #Birds
Saw my first brambling of the year at Spurn earlier this week, including this one that was being ringed.

First Yellow-browed Warbler for me at Spurn this week, seen in the hand during ringing. Amazing to think this tiny bird has travelled all the way from Siberia.

Saw this gull at Hornsea Mere in East Yorkshire and not sure what it is. Has a yellow colour ring with XOA3 on it. Thought originally it might be a Caspian due to very white head but head proportions don’t seem right. Any help much appreciated. #UKBirding #Gulls #EastYorkshire #Birds

Still really windy at Alturlie yesterday. Most of the waders were hunkering down like these Dunlin. Great views of a single bar-tailed godwit. 5 sand martin flew past, 2 Long-tailed ducks (first of the winter) & patch tick gannet
#UKBirding #BirdingScotland #patchbirding #birds
It was still pretty wild at Alturlie after Storm Amy. A Leach’s Petrel flew right next to car & then got blown inland in with a flock of lapwings. There was also a single swallow, wheatear, canada geese and some very exhausted looking chiffchaffs! #patchbirding #BirdingScotland #UKBirding #Birds
04.10.2025 19:26 — 👍 30 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Spotted this little zebra jumping spider in the garden showing off its stripes!
They don’t bother with webs, they just leap around hunting, sometimes jumping 10× their body length.
Always amazing what you can find when you look closely.

A great morning at Tarbat Ness over the weekend. This wren found a nice snack in the plantation; great to see knot on the rocks & lots of curlew flying over. As we were leaving there was a large flock of golden plover on the farmland.
