...yeah so uhhhh maybe i'll add more to this thread some other time if more coherent headcanons manifest themselves? this all spun out of my gaiuswol backstory/lorebuilding and i've become fixated on her specifically, especially since official lore on her is so sparse and contradictory

livia *despises* the auri werlyt orphans, hates that they dare to steal gaius's affection away from her, she devises situations that for all intents and purposes appear as unrelated but are actually part of her underhanded schemes to make gaius spend less of his time with them

livia and lucia don't cross paths for many years after they're taken in by the empire, and lucia seeing how fanatical livia has become with gaius is part of what motivates her to defect.

his poor handling of her hypomanic behaviors while under his care, which ultimately lead to her demise at your hands (her anguished and dying screams transmitted to his ear from castrum meridianum) is yet another one of his many regrets that haunt him to this day :)

in my headcanon gaius isn't reciprocal at all, he only sees her as a daughter, however he doesn't make much of an effort to dissuade her behavior because her devotion to him leads to *results* and he's nothing if not committed to the empire's cause, even outright enabling her if it was beneficial
