Rather than a paint effect, when Iris "paints" (generates) a "motif" (object) with their electrope wand, it creates a colorful, blocky effect that pares down to a 3D wireframe of the object, and then the final model (moogle, for example). Their class of modeler-mage is called a Kallitechnis.

In lieu of aetherial inks, the minute geometries built into the multifold electrope circuits in Iris's tablet terminal allow for spontaneous elemental transformation. On close inspection the circuitry resembles geometries found Hannish and south sea isle involute grimoires made for arcanima.

You can't usually see it because of their hair, but Iris has a scar on their left brow from the day of Code Blood. It's unusual, most Everkeep denizens lack permanent scars.
