Frustrated because I asked for an absentee ballot well within the deadline and it still hasn’t shown up. I might not be spending all my time in NYC right now, but I’m still a New Yorker and I want to vote. 😭

Those are a huge turn off for me, especially when they take the place of a summary! I want to know what the book is about, not whether some famous person liked it.

A blessing: my mother is vehemently anti-Trump.
A curse: I have to see his face every time I go to her Facebook page because she’s posting about how awful she is with links to prove it.

I don’t get it either. It takes up a ton of physical and mental energy but it’s just this thing that has to happen literally constantly or your whole life devolves into chaos. I don’t have the energy for that.

I mean yeah, you’re moving the whole time you’re doing it. Anything involving continuous movement is a workout.

I’m on my way to Alabama! My MFA journey is about to begin.

I also got mistaken for my siblings’ mother! Especially during the period of time when I’d hit puberty and they hadn’t. Oddly it’s never happened with my half siblings who are young enough that I could be their mom. Just my siblings who are three and six years younger than me.

Ah! That experience didn’t even really occur to me. Me and my siblings all went to different middle and high schools so even when our grades were close enough we just weren’t physically in the same place.

My two half sisters are like a year and a half apart. Their dynamic is very different from mine with my full siblings who are each three years apart. Of course, there are a lot of other differences in our childhoods that might account for that too, but still.

Complicated family structures always interest me because mine is! It’s nice to talk to someone who does have a complicated family structure - most of my friends are only children or have like…one sibling.

I have two half sisters who I didn’t grow up with - they’re currently teenagers and live in another state. So I’ve only gotten to see them maybe once or twice a year, which is weird. I also have two stepbrothers - one I grew up with and one I didn’t.

dear lady working at the laundromat: maybe just after you changed the washer i was using to the wrong setting because you thought it was yours is not the best time to interrupt me from doing my laundry to ask me for an online review. just a thought.

It’s so annoying. I know I should dust more often so there’s not as much dust to disturb but I never want to because when I do this is what happens. 😭

trying to make my bedroom at my grandma’s place at least semi-presentable before i leave and it would be a whole lot easier to clean if all the dust i’m trying to get rid of wouldn’t make me sneeze so much. 🤧

when i was a kid i wrote a toxic yaoi wip. several rewrites later and it’s about an autistic 13yo who is really angry that his classmate doesn’t have health insurance and therefore can’t treat his severe allergies and asthma. still gay as hell, but i like this version a lot better.

season 4 of osomatsu-san is so chill compared to previous seasons. considering they randomly go to space and fight aliens and get transformed into watermelon zombies that is really saying something about how bonkers past seasons have been.
