You don't actually have to tag anyone, but feel free to tag the friend or the author. How did your favourite book get into your hands?

This is TOUGH!!!! As much as I love sci fi and fantasy, I have to pick one genre?!
Like Alexander Hamilton, I want to read any book I can get my hands on! Fantasy and sci fi is what I write, but I'd like to get my inspiration from almost anything.

20.11.2025 16:57 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

#WritingLifeMonthly November 20: If I could only read one genre for the rest of my life, it'd probably be sci-fi. The past few years, it's been getting a diversity of voices that certain of my other favourite genres lack, and I can't see that stopping even with where our world's heading.

Day 20
Honestly, I’d read fantasy. You often can approach real world issues and have deep philosophical discussions in fantastical settings.
Imo, fiction is just learning through imagination.

Well… horror is pretty broad and can encompass a plethora of topics. Sci-fi has such a broad definition I’d still get to enjoy end of the world , dying earth tropes… but I can’t choose between them… can’t!

Someone asks you if you can recommend a good book, what is the one title that always comes to mind? (Or share as many as you have the character count for.)

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy by John Le Carre.

Paranoid right-wing nonsense. The epitome of pseudo-intellectual boomer fiction.

The value of pi is three point one-four.
It isn’t less and it isn’t more.
But in Kings it’s simply three,
though Rome knew geometry,
from an all-being I’d expect the right score.

Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey, obviously, as I've said before. Poorly written. Read one page of both and I tossed them back to the library where they came from. Also, I never liked horror books, give me nightmares like the movies too. Don't like Stephen King.

I would tag my best friend Kerensa or my boyfriend Alexander, but neither of them are on Bluesky.
Kerensa would be a rogue, probably, but one of the nice ones, a chaotic good, and Alexander would definitely be a knight, for he's very heroic! :)
