(This is 100% a subskeet. I understand that some people don’t have the choice not to live in a place where frivolous defamation claims can wreck your life, but it’s still frustrating when their inability to do the right thing causes problems for the rest of us.)

I’m very far from a free speech absolutist, but I could never live in the UK (a country I love to visit) specifically because I will never lie to settle a defamation case when I know that what I said was true, and I don’t think I could afford that kind of lifestyle in the UK.

X has suspended Gab’s very explicitly racist public chatbot (named “Arya”). In my last profile snapshot before the suspension the account had 104.8k tweets, most of which were answers. If anyone needs them, I currently have 80k, and should have most of the rest once everything is indexed.

Grok’s launch as a public chatbot on X was in early March 2025. The day before the MechaHitler incident, four months later, the account had 15.67 million tweets. That was less than a month ago, and right now it’s up to 30,905,483.

This is actually a pretty reasonable rule for determining whose blocklists to avoid, along with “would I trust this person with my account credentials”.

I have data, and know people who have data, but it’s all specific to individual projects and interests and isn’t public. There used to be commercial services that would sell you historical data, but I don’t really know anything about them, or even if any of them have survived.

There was the Twitter Stream Grab, which covered 11 or 12 years, but it was only 1% of tweets, didn’t include media, and was taken down by the Internet Archive last year.

Depending on the accounts and date range it might be possible to piece something together from the Wayback Machine and other sources, but in general no. This kind of thing wasn’t really allowed even pre-Musk (you were supposed to respect deletions, etc.).

He lost me with Only God Forgives, which is why I was surprised that the early part of Copenhagen Cowboy was so good.

I was kind of expecting Death Stranding 2 to reveal that it takes place in the Copenhagen Cowboy universe, but apparently it doesn’t.

Thinking about how Copenhagen Cowboy starts with one of the best hours of television I’ve ever seen, has a couple more episodes that are pretty good, and then gets Kojimafied (literally).

Just saw a new Musk reply to a tweet where this guy quotes “William Meijer”, aka “William Khenkin”, aka “William Lanka”, which is clearly the latest fake identity of another one of these race science weirdos. It’s wild how all these people are such losers and half of them are the same person.

Especially if it’s saying things you agree with. Of course it’s saying some things you’ll agree with, that’s how propaganda works.
