Customers who want the RPG industry to continue to thrive and grow outside of a handful of bigger publishers able to weather the storm of hugely increased prices on print products are going to have to become comfortable paying realistic prices for digital products. $5 PDFs aren't going to cut it.

i want to stress that this is a 100% free comic. i am just a fan of their work, and have no affiliation with kobold press beyond that.

one thing i want to do is play around with the layouts of the comic's pages. i dont want to overdo it, so page and panel decorations and flair will appear every few pages. dont want to clutter everything up too much.

sketch of a comic page. a spy is tracking down the heroes, who are in a tavern. he thinks about the party he is spying on. "deadly warriors. conniving mage. a mad scientist! i must be ready for anything." he opens the door and there's a loud ruckus coming from inside. within the tavern is a scene of chaos: a thief stole a guy's pants, a tiefling mage is sobbing alone with a drink, a disabled kobold laughs maniacally while setting something on fire, and a bearded dwarf woman pounces on a guy, ready to punch him, and hollers "i'll show you hard-headed!" the spy is dismayed at the chaos and listens to more yelling. the victim of pants-theft yells "i'm naked!", the tiefling wails "daddy doesn't love me!", some hollers "augh!", and another patron yells "fire! somebody help!"

a half-elf rogue and a ghoul ranger are in the bowels of a dungeon. they encountered a trap hallway that has a dart trap, spike trap, swinging guillotine trap, and a fire trap. the rogue is excited about this, she rubs her hands together and giggles "hee hee hee!" the ghoul ranger throws his hands up in frustration, and gripes, "a trap corridor?! why can't this be a [simple] rope snare?" he does not notice the rogue has zipped away toward the traps. he turns to talk to her and discovers she is gone. he yells after her, "tris, no!"

so anyway, im working on a fan comic based in kobold press' midgard campaign setting. here are a few page and character concepts.
