The great British public don't help either as statistics show that many GP & A&E visits are unnecessary because a simple visit to the chemist was all that was required. One estimate is that 40% of A&E visits are preventable.

The lack of funding & resources in social care not only creates a bottleneck but also causes some people to end up in hospital when homecare would have been adequate. The collapse in primary care through GPs is also adding unnecessarily to hospital pressure.

Hi there, The Bear. You are right. This is helping the situation but not solving the problem. More resources have also been put into training but these individuals are then finding there are no places. Not that the places don't exist on paper but they are unfunded to pay for outsourced activities!
