I expect that consumer-facing AI programs will continue to improve and they may become much more useful tools for everyday life in the future.

But I think it was a disastrous mistake that today’s models were taught to be convincing before they were taught to be right.

Vibe coding service Replit deleted user’s production database, faked data, told fibs galore : AI ignored instruction to freeze code, forgot it could roll back errors, and generally made a terrible hash of things

I didn't even realize replit was "a vibe coding platform" and ppl used it in prod. 😬

Historically I've used it for a beginning coder workshops for a job I had at a bootcamp years ago.

It seems they've rebranded and disaster ensued. 😬😬😬

The Grand Canyon Lodge burned in a wildfire. What to know about its history The lodge opened in 1937 and was the only hotel inside the national park's boundaries on the North Rim. It was a National Historic Landmark.

Super bummed to see this news. 😞

I recall visiting the lodge on the North Rim as a kid and it was the best way to experience the Grand Canyon as the South Rim is usually crowded.

Hopefully they rebuild.
