How close is a new bird flu (H5N1) pandemic? Probably not around the corner but getting uncomfortably closer.

You've probaly seen various headlines this year about bird flu and the potential for a new pandemic.

I will try to (likely very slowly) make one or more visualization per chapter of "Solid State Physics" by Ashcroft and Mermin, with the hope that they will be useful to people teaching/learning solid state Physics.

Entropy is one of those formulas that many of us learn, swallow whole, and even use regularly without really understanding.

(E.g., where does that “log” come from? Are there other possible formulas?)

Yet there's an intuitive & almost inevitable way to arrive at this expression.
