The idea of financializing everything is the first step toward ensuring nothing ever gets "politicized."

This is not just the destruction of traditional notions of political economy, it it the destruction of politics itself, the hobbling of any democratic push against the neoliberal economic order.

I'm reminded of the book below, published in 2006, and I'm reminded that someone always comes along to explain away the fetid, soul-grinding society we live in by blaming it on a lack of masculine virtue, or how distant we have made ourselves from God.
