Newly unsealed documents show that JPMorgan alerted federal regulators to potentially suspicious transactions involving Jeffrey Epstein and top Wall Street figures.

Michael R. Bloomberg, the cityโs billionaire former mayor, gave $3.5 million this week to For Our City, a super PAC trying to stop Zohran Mamdani. That was on top of another $1.5 million Bloomberg gave to a different anti-Mamdani group, and his endorsement of Andrew Cuomo. The former mayor is now unquestionably the single largest donor in the race.
Bloomberg has dropped $5 million against Zohran in these last days of the race, making him the single largest donor. Personally I wish he'd just settle for having successfully bought a 3rd term and do something else with his money www.nytimes.com/live/2025/10...

Really bizarre to watch Silicon Valley, of all places, buy into this stuff. Like some of the red states murdering their universities, I kinda get it, these places are run by complete idiots. But what do these software and engineering firms plan to do?

There's some detailed history/sociology to be written about all this for sure, the advent of online spaces that were both very public (in the sense of having very wide reach) and very private (in the sense of anonymity), and how it created new nexuses (nexii?) of bad actors.

Chart showing demographics of Chicago by race and ethnicity from 1980-2020. The overall total fell slightly over that period and the only category that saw substantial growth was Hispanic/Latino, Mexican
Mexican immigration was basically the only thing that kept Chicago's population from completely cratering after 1970. We as a city owe our Mexican-American neighbors a huge debt of gratitude.

But the entire question of our current moment is whether the shoe will *ever* be on the foot ever again, in the sense of whether it's constitutional for Democrats to wield any real political power in the United States of America
