It looks like we have a different view on what’s been happening and what is happening in the community.

And I'm confident many in our community are in a similar situation. They can't speak up, regardless of how badly they WANT to, because they can't put their job, their house and their family on the line.

Being afraid and not caring are two very different things.

And yes, I know I'm not the first to be on the receiving end of this, and I'm quite sure I won't be the last.

You say the community hasn't cared. I think that's incorrect. Before, I couldn't speak up for others without jeopardizing my job and income. A risk I was not willing to take.

Over the years, I've learned that when someone points out your privilege, and you feel the need to deny that, they're usually right. So I'll take your word for that.

Personally, I've seen decisions made in emotion can be overturned with reason, which is why I expected this could change.

The Real Impact of a WordPress Ban Joost de Valk and Progress Planner got banned from WordPress, and that's a big deal. And we shouldn’t allow ourselves to normalize it.
