This is said to have been the work of "Housou-baba", and her appearance is said to have been a monster in the form of an old woman, 3 meters tall and with a bright red face.

A yokai described in "Oshu Hanashi."
When a smallpox epidemic claimed many lives, there were a series of incidents in which the graves in which the bodies had been buried were dug up and the bodies eaten away.

``件の如し'' means that it's true. In the kanji structure, "イ(人)" means person and "牛" means cow. It is also said that a yokai was created from this.

kudan 件

A yokai with a human head and a cow's body. beast of prophecy.
It is born from a domestic cow before a disaster such as an epidemic occurs, and predicts future disasters. It is said that if you speak the prophecy, your life will end immediately.

Shanxiao (山魈, mountain demon) is a ghostly figure from Chinese #folklore, known as a spirit of the mountains.
There are many accounts of it; one says it has a single foot that turns backward, can change forms, and is afraid of firecrackers. In some places, it is worshipped. It enjoys 1/2

The Skogsra, also called the Hulder, live deep in the forest, feasting on the souls of men who follow after them. Skogsra look almost human but can be distinguished by their short tail and a hollowed-out back.

This is a yokai depicted in ``Konjaku Hyakki Shui,'' which depicts a demon woman standing behind a lantern.
It is said that a ghost appears at the Hyakumonogatari after the story is finished, and it is thought that this painting was created as an example of the ghost that appears there.

その道の大事な話というのは面授（めんじゅ）前提であり、機根が人それぞれだから相手を見て対機説法しなくちゃらんモノであってネットにお手軽に落ちてるもんじゃないというのがひとつ。

師匠は口と拳が釣り合ってるかどうかの見極めを含めて自分のレベルに応じて現れるのがひとつ。

聞くのは易く行うのは難いのでだいたいモノにならんというのがひとつ。

これらを踏まえると、教えるというのは相当に面倒臭い話なんだから、断られるのが普通というのがひとつ。

A monster depicted in Toriyama Sekien's ``Konjaku Gazu Zoku Hyakki.''
This monster causes a sudden fear in the person it possesses.
It is depicted with a long body from the waist down, making the whole body tremble.

I think the "人間の心をこわしてしまう" here means that people who meet Slender Man will go crazy.

Sunamura-no-onryo

Yokai in the Sugoroku-e paintings drawn by Yoshikazu Utagawa.
Onryo is a ghost who holds a grudge.
Its head is a pumpkin, and its body is made of vines and leaves.
Only the picture remains, and there are no detailed descriptions, so we don't know what kind of monster it is.
