This! And adding: Don’t forget about local action. It’s much easier to see the results of your work on a local/community scale vs. a national scale. Doesn’t mean national action isn’t important, but if you’re feeling dismayed because “nothing makes a difference,” that’s much less true locally.

I'm not surprised given what you've just been through. This is going to take time - I saw your comment about anxiety meds - good move. Get your body calmer by any means, and that will give you more options. If you need someone to talk to, I am here. I might be slow, time zones etc but I'm here.

The cure for anxiety, is trust. That is a hard thing to rebuild once damaged. I've had a struggle learning to trust myself - gaslighting and relentless blame took a huge toll. Today feels like a breakthrough. I'm an ok sort of person, not a monster. What I want is ok, my feelings are valid.
