Graphical summary of the paper entitled : "Macaque prefrontal cortex integrates multiple components for metacognitive judgments of working memory"

Graphical summary of the paper entitled : "Macaque prefrontal cortex integrates multiple components for metacognitive judgments of working memory"

Using calcium imaging in macaque PFC during a meta–WM task, we show that PFC jointly encodes remembered locations + uncertainty.

PFC integrates WM strength + cues into a meta-WM signal that guides behavior.

A collab btw our team and Liping Wang group

A non-monotonic code for event probabilityin the human brain. Nature Communication, Foucault et al, 2025

Using 7T fMRI, our team found a representation of the probability of the next event in human dlPFC —and it’s highly non-monotonic.
Confidence signals, in contrast, were mostly monotonic.

Thank you Nicole!

Nicole's wonderful book 'Elusive Cures' has played an important role in pushing me out of my comfort zone and join forces w/ @philippedomenech.bsky.social and @bellecguill.bsky.social, here.

Exciting times ahead for neuroscience.

Go read it, if you haven't yet!

Excited to share our preprint: "Recasting adaptation as strategy inference". This work explores how humans spontaneously adapt to changes by inferring strategies, rather than relying on incremental learning.@philippedomenech.bsky.social @khamascience.bsky.social @computationalbrain.bsky.social 🧠🟦 🧠🤖

The unparalleled XJ Wang has written a book about the computations underlying cognition. I read a draft version and it is awesome. He is not on social media, so I am sharing it on his behalf :)
