Having to pay a monthly/annual subscription for a decent SSH client was the final nail. If not had been nominal I might have, but Β£80/yr for something decent that could cope with bastion hosts etc. was just taking the pee.

I tried to use it as a laptop replacement because my MBP was out of OS updates (mid 2015). In the end I just put Ubuntu on my MBP as I just couldn't live with it.

Scrolling down my down my timeline I thought this was a chinchilla to start with, very similar features. Minus the big feet and bushy tail.

Even on main BBC site she wasn't until lots of people complained about it.

That said, most biscuits these days are terrible, so loaded with sugar as to be bordering on unpleasant.

Milk chocolate hobnobs are the king of biscuits, a close second is a good custard cream.

...and this is why the church has done it, because they know it will draw more attention to the cause. Sticking the same things on some run down church hall isn't going to cut it. Maybe there's a reason the only thing these people can think of is painting roundabouts.

Jeez. Locals here are empty by 10:30, if they even got more than a handful in the first place. Clearly not been out and seen what's happening in communities.

The UK govt. Could actually do IT projects, but then they sacked off Crown Digital, because the large usual suspect IT-mismanagement companies weren't getting projects any more that they could bid and the inflate the project cost on later.

Implement it Estonian style, where I own my ID then yes, but the UK implementation is going to be nothing like it, and that's going to be very problematic.

Ok. They’ve pissed me off.

I’m back to tell you 3 things about ID cards:

1. Migrants ALREADY HAVE biometric ID cards & govts have been trying to digitise them for years w repeated fuckups & failures causing complete chaos - they don’t work, you do not want that system for you.

This is what the UK considers edtech governance: the regulator waving away concerns about biometrics being used to pay for food.
Aside the digital rights issue, it is infuriating that schools are expected to understand the privacy and security risks. Risks that are so great no workplace does this

Moved on to ECHR now, "should have gone ages ago". I wonder which of their human rights they don't want?

Ugh, gone out for breakfast, two people on next table spouting trump rhetoric about renewables, "well wind just doesn't work does it?"

Yeah mate, doing absolutely nothing nothing at all for us.

Not today Apple. Not today.... or tomorrow, or any other day generally any more. Guess the behaviour analysis needs some time to catch up to the change of car.

ASVs really need some self awareness "we need to scan this domain, please whitelist 40960 IP addresses". No. Stop. You're now a weak link in the security chain for a whole server. Have some self awareness.

We aren't deploying anything complex either tbh. Just some 3/5 instance clusters of some apps, with maybe 3 or 4 apps per customer. At the moment we have our own tool building compose files, but it's relatively high maintenance (even though it does take care of self-signed ca&certs).

I'm game, something like "so you're thinking about k8s to orchestrate your containers? Stop, here are your alternatives."

Purely self interest, as we need something for multi-tenanted infrastructure for some projects that involve containers and I don't want to reinvent the wheel.

Really? We're sharing guides that make no mention of security anywhere. Not even a "you should go read this security guide before you actually put this live". It's 2025, not 1995.

It's fair to say I'd not be doing what I do now without it though. Because UK hosting choices for PHP and MySQL were basically one company, who wasn't very good at it, we setup doing hosting.
