All the rain this weekend really weighed down my rose bushes so I did a little trim… and a bouquet magically appeared 🩷🌷🌸

All the Colors of the Dark was my favorite this month, the audiobook was fantastic and, yes, I listened to it twice.

You are looking at Smaug, the greatest dragon ever. In this illustration, from the book “The Hobbit” by Tolkien, the glorious Smaug is rearing back and blasting fire from his mouth. He is green with a yellow underside. His mouth is open showing his white fangs. He is VERY unhappy. There is probably a hobbit running for his life somewhere. This illustrated book is from 1977, the illustrations are from the animated movie “The Hobbit” from the same year. How many times can one say a variation of “illustration” in one paragraph? Four, apparently.

BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT EVER!! I had this book as a kid and then MY kids left it outside in the rain. It broke my heart and I looked for a replacement for years. Then forgot about it. *Enter best hubby ever*

Alphabetically by author, fiction and non-fic separate. We have an entire room of bookcases and need a second, we’d never find anything if it wasn’t organized.

A fluffy American robin, with it’s orange breast and black top, sits on a snowy window sill at the bottom of the frame. Behind him is a holly bush with bright red berries. He and his friends, of which you can see parts of in the bush, decimated those berries. So. Many. Robins. Maybe 100 in the yard. Only one full one in this picture though, and he’s looking at me like ‘let me in lady, it looks warm in there’. Or maybe he’s just just full.

Fantastic!! I was hoping you’d post more of the bluebirds. Here’s a fluffy American Robin for you. Taken by me from the warm side of the window. The Robin is happy, it just ate a bunch of holly berries.

Definitely plan to read it but, like some others, I needed a little break in between.
