And no, they do not cause autism.
Before I saw the link, I actually thought this was a joke about just using mace like the "spray at people" kind, in the quest to make food even spicier and/or more unpleasant to eat. But I suppose in that case, that would have been "I can't taste the mac and cheese with it, either, send help."

But the fact is, those are *our* troops, not any single President's. America's Army, built on Americans' taxes.
You deserve better than what the Secretary of War is giving you.
The professionalism that our most senior military commanders exhibited with their silence today despite repeated attempts by Hegseth & Trump begging them to please clap was encouraging, & should be an example to all troops when they try to exploit them for partisan politics. bsky.app/profile/atru...

It's wild how politely asking grown ass adults to wear masks and stop coughing on produce was the second coming of Stalin. But military takeovers of cities based on who they elected is totally cool patriot freedom USA.

Social media *should* be boring. Being algorithm and dopamine poisoned is bad, actually.
When your feed dries up for the day, that's your cue to go do something else until new stuff shows up later.
I may have cringed (and shaken my cane at the sky) when "rizz" was added, but this? This deserves its place. Congrats to Cory Doctorow.

The fact that a company managed to get a monopoly on seeds and get farmers to sign those ridiculous contracts shouldn't even pass the giggle test. The cancer denial and cover-up on top is just bonkers.

Thousands of farm animals & livestock are going unattended.
They arenβt being milked. They arenβt being fed.
I feel a great deal more for those animals than for the farmers who voted for this shit.
They KNEW who their workers were & where they came from. But they voted to hurt them anyway.
Did they teach proper form for white flattening? ;)
(IIRC they had a special dedicated machine for making... I dunno if it was flat whites or something else, but I called it the white flattener because it looked ridiculous - maybe you know what the deal with that thing was!)
Couldn't say precisely why, but having been to Australia, can confirm that a flat white from tiny hotel cafe or anywhere else there is better than anything Starbucks in the US makes in terms of being about the coffee. (Loves me a white mocha or cake pop, but those are not at all about the coffee)

Good thing the administration is shutting down all those solar and wind projects to make sure there's more market for natural gas. And coal, of course.

Hadn't thought of it as aftercare, but yeah, checks out.

I'm sorry but the largest protest of my lifetime is not the 7th or 8th biggest news story in the country behind "what does Gen Z want from Instagram?" This shit is humiliating. Rearrange your layout to meet this moment. Omitting the thing happening in every American city is malpractice.

11.05.2025 22:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It annoys me too. The thing I continually remind myself is that people are hurting and angry, so expecting them to react with that sort of grace is a tall order right now. And most people who are quietly nodding and saying "Well done, Senator" probably don't want to say something on social media.

Part of why I upgraded from a 13 to a 16, in addition to the usual evolution of camera guts, was on the promise of Apple Intelligence. Namely I am tired of the abandonware version of Siri, and figured, "They couldn't possibly make it *worse*."
It's worse.
Any decent human being should be willing to make the financial or volume of meat consumption sacrifice to stop the literal torture of animals. It's that simple.
