On Jim Ratcliffe: just because you've got a lot of money, it doesn't mean you know what you're talking about
My interview on Sky News.

British boomer back in the UK after 30 years working in France ๐จ๐ต and Sweden ๐ธ๐ช. I miss being an EU ๐ช๐บ citizen but thankfully my kids have Swedish passports so their lives haven't been completely screwed. Be nice. Be kind.

Jim Radcliffe pissed me off, so I wrote this about the inconvenient truth of migration.
tl:dr - no, just fucking read it. Some basic mathematics - you know, COUNTING THINGS - might make you reconsider, you stupid twats.

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientistโbecause the person felt she did didnโt deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
I don't want to read the article so could someone please tell me who gets to play the Palestinians in this scenario? The Scots or the Welsh?

12.11.2025 11:14 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Personal note: London has been home for a very, very long time, but as of today, I am also officially a Brit - that is to say, a British citizen. I feel relieved and I feel grateful - but not, perhaps, in the forelock-tugging way GB News/Starmer expect a new immigrant to be.

What you may not know is that for many years, artists have been illustrating them - for no reason other than they wanted to respond. Below is a thread of some of these beautiful drawings because they should be seen ๐งต

I'm hoping this is a bit like the phoney war at the start of WWI, with Europe playing nice with Donny just to buy time to rebuild local defence capabilities that don't rely on Uncle Sam.

I would support a ban on wider cars in some 20 mph urban areas, when alternate routes are available. Our local shopping street is essentially single file now because even when correctly parked they leave no room for two 'normal' cars to pass each other in the space left behind.
