I believe, we belive in the rule of law and the fact that usus and opinio juris have consolidated positive norms to be respected by everyone. For decades we were inching forward towards a world where no criminals could feel they are above the law.

I belong to a generation of individuals that worked tirelessly to make sure the ICC treaty would be agreed in 1998. We made it, as activists, with some support from the Italian institutions too that allowed pacific mobilisation and used their soft power too, back then.
