Yes, it's unrealistic. Stuff wears out and you need to buy a replacements. It's frugal to buy them when they go on sale like on black friday.

Seriously, do you really think that's going to make a difference? So people don't buy for 3 days. Then after those three days? They make up for what they didn't buy the first 3 days

What a locally owned businesses? What locally owned business near me sells electronics? Or any clothing that I might want to buy? Or books that don't cost twice as much as Barnes & Noble or amazon? This boycott is unrealistic for 99% of the country

panels over parking lots are a lot harder to install than in an open field. There's all the wiring that has to be run underneath the parking lot all the extra structural equipment that has to be created to hold the panels up that high and resist weather

Pretty much 100% of the conversations that I have like this are at work. So I can always say "well I've got to get back to work".
Conversations outside of work are always pretty superficial, like with neighbors and such.

So the exact policies that work in Norway may be difficult or impossible to enact here. Of course that doesn't mean that we shouldn't be doing something different. It just means that other countries aren't necessarily a perfect example to emulate.

Also the United States is much more ethnically diverse. Norway is much more homogeneous where about 80% of the people are ethnically norwegian. All this means that United States has many different challenges from some place like Norway.

I'm always a little bit uncomfortable with comparing United States to other countries. The United States is 25 times larger than norway. It has 60 times more people. Norway only has four to seven major cities while the United States has about 350.

Here's my problem with the focus on Epstein documents. It's clear that Epstein led a double life. On one hand he was a really rich guy and successful businessman. And on the other hand he abused young women and underage women. I'm not convinced that those two lives crossed that much.
