Something a little different from yesterday.
Had an interview with the amazing Brushscuro Miniatures at SprayGunner and learned a LOT about blending techniques and brush work.
So I felt inspired and put it to work.
Not bad for a first try.

The abomination made far too late into the night...

Just a reminder that THIS is the scheme I'm going for.

Right before we left, the nail decals arrived, so I got the a color set I'll use for the paint job.

The nail water slide decals aren't too thick, so I'll be able to play around with a setter and a softener later.

Got it almost flush with the inside detail of the armpits connectors.

Then added some of these rods for detail, then shaved to shape.

Next, use the remainder of the tags to fill out the armpits.
Drill a lead hole, then widen it.
Thankfully I had a bit wide enough for the peg (2.8mm) and the little tab at the base of the connection.

Remember to test fit as you go and to center it so you have extra material on all sides!

Nice height increase!
Now we shave off the excess and smooth out the belly.

Next, the armpits!

I found the center of the hole before gluing the piece on.

Now we drill a small hole thru, then a bigger one, then we cut and shave the rest away.

However I have a drill.
Made it faster.

Still use a knife for the finishing touches and test fit as you go!

I was surprised when I learned about it and figured id give it a go.
The variety of thickness amongst the clips makes them an even better tool than you'd expect!
I look forward to see what you do with them!!!

Couldn't find my plaplate/evergreen sheets, so I'm using these bread clips!

So first you trace out the shape you want on some tape.

Then you put that cutout atop the clips/plastic.

Don't forget to test fit so you dont cut too much!

Since the peg was too big for a ball polycap but not big enough to fit the hole, I made do.

Extra polycap cut to fit.
And it works!

Even gave me room for extending the torso like I wanted to, so yay!
